78 NOSTALGIA
We talk about 12 inch nostalgia these days. I guess in the 1960's they were nostalgic about 78's. A nice little back and forth about old records between the late Bob Hite and Hugh Hefner…enjoy.

NATURAL LIGHT
I brought a lot of lighting equipment to this particular shoot. I set everything up and tested the lights, to discover that I didn't really like the way that artificial lighting looked in this situation. As soon as I took all of the equipment away, I was left with one window; that's when I think the beauty of natural lighting really hit me as a photographer. It was the first epiphany I had about lighting and the fact that I definitely prefer a window and a reflector over lugging a ton of lights around. That doesn't mean I'll never use lighting to help me out in certain situations, but for the most part...I'm hooked on natural light.

SURFIN' SURFARI
The Strobist is a great learning tool and it's got some really great inspirational videos as well. This video was taken in one of my previous stomping grounds, Ocean Beach, CA! Dave Black gives us a new take on what is possible with surf photography and strobe lights. Enjoy!

ROB HOWARD
I was lucky enough to be able to work as staff photographer at Bonnaroo Music and Arts festival this year. I remember waking up early for the sunrise yoga session thinking there would be some great shots to be had; what I didn't expect was meeting Rob Howard. Rob was with his agent/festival assistant and he just simply walked up and said hello. Soon enough, I realized that he was one of the nicest people I had ever met. He was so full of life and you can tell he really loves what he does. Besides being an all around good dude, he has an eye that's super inspiring. I strongly encourage you to check out his website and see the world through his eyes.

TMR
This is a screen shot from a few weeks ago when Third Man Records gave me photo credit on their main page. I really can't thank them enough for that. I've got some photos of The Black Belles and some photographs from The Soundland Music Festival on their events page and I couldn't be more happy to share my art with such an amazing group of people.
